Introduce your students to descriptive writing with this visual aid There are a range of images to be printed out I stuck the images on A3 paper - one image per sheet The students, in groups, then had to have a go at adding adjectives, verbs, similes etc to describe the image ****No book marking involved!!!

Behaviour Report - Encouragement - Praise

I use this report to eradicate low level disruption within the classroom and to ensure that staff feel supported. The incentive is for learners to achieve a minimum amount of points each lesson - not for a prize, but to save themselves from earning an after school detention. The report works best when targets are set with the classroom teacher and communication home is made.

Rather than giving a list of classroom expectations, this PowerPoint leads you to create them with your class. Putting onus onto students in more successful than creating success criteria for them.

This success criteria with individual student slips were created as an incentive to improve students' attitudes and behaviour in English Rewards and incentives that I used were in line with whole school incentives

This will fit any subject and it will offer your teachers to reflect on any current schemes of work This worked really well last year and really helped me to identify gaps that needed sorting It also gave staff the chance to voice their opinions The document can be adapted to suit any year group

I created this quiz sheet to use at my school at the year 7 open evening. It's a great way of learning students how to use the library referencing system.

In addition to this resource you will need some lego style building bricks. Slide 1 - Gets the discussion started in your classroom. Students should use the building blocks so that you can identify who is taking part in the classroom discussion. Slide 2 - This teaching slide uses animations to teach the fundamentals of writing to argue Slide 3 - This has a thinking image. The image aims to make students consider whether or not they're contradicting themselves.

Questioning poker chips - help to develop your own questioning AFL too!

4 different coloured poker chips e.g. red, blue, orange and green You hand out the blank chips to students and you keep the chips with the varied questioning starts on them The question starts have been taken from a question matrix It is up to you, you can use them as a differentiation tool, but the idea is that you take a red one for example, from your own pile and then look for an answer from a student who has a blank red poker chip. And so on. It's as simple as that!
